DESCRIPTION
The stimulating effect of yerba mate is due to the presence of caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline. Yerba mate can be brewed in many ways. It's prepared differently in Argentina or Brazil, and differently in Paraguay or the Middle East. Just as there's no one right way to brew coffee or tea. However, mate is most commonly prepared and consumed in wooden or earthenware (but sometimes other materials are used). You'll also need the bombilla, which you use to drink the brew.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. PREPARATION START:
Pour 1 teaspoon of Yerba Mate into a glass of hot water (approx. 80⁰C) and let it steep, covered, for 10-15 minutes.
2. PREPARATION START:
Place the bombilla in the container. Pour yerba mate, ½ to ¾ of its volume. Pour hot, but not boiling, water over the dried fruit.

RECOMMENDED STORAGE
Store in a cool, dry place.
