As early as 2,000 years ago, the Roman writer Pliny the Elder said: “There are two most important things in the world: the sun and salt.” Salt has played a special role for centuries – as a spice, as a preservative, and in some eras even as a means of payment.
Nowadays, the taste of most dishes is unimaginable without the addition of salt. Seasoned salts with a special addition of iodized salt (the combination of these two ingredients has a preservative effect) add a great variety to prepared dishes. Iodine is a mineral necessary for the production of thyroid hormones. Its deficiency in the body leads to numerous and serious health disorders. Studies show that the population of some regions of Poland is at risk of iodine deficiency. However, consuming salt with increased iodine content is not recommended for people who are allergic to this element or are being treated with iodine supplements. Our mix contains 20% iodized salt (potassium iodide content - 20 to 40 mg/kg of salt).
