Solgar is available in an excellent chelated form. To facilitate the absorption of the mineral, it is combined with an amino acid. Amino acid chelates are characterized by good absorption due to their low molecular weight. Their stability is also their hallmark—maintained across all pH ranges encountered in the digestive process. Amino acid chelates are neutral and therefore do not react with other food components (e.g., phytins, vitamin E, vitamin C, and B vitamins). Each of the 100 tablets in the pack contains 22 mg of zinc ions. This is so high that additional zinc supplements are not needed.
