This plant is characterized by a whole range of beneficial properties for the human body. It primarily has diastolic, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory effects, and stimulates bile secretion. For this reason, wormwood is excellent for all ailments related to the digestive system. It is particularly helpful for indigestion, all types of gastritis, and symptoms that indicate a malfunction of the digestive system, such as heartburn, bloating, heaviness in the stomach, or belching. Its use is also recommended for liver and gallbladder problems, as it supports the flow of bile into the duodenum.

Wormwood for women's ailments

The Latin name for wormwood is Artemisia. This is a not coincidental reference to Artemisia, the virgin goddess of the hunt, women, and childbirth. In the past, wormwood was commonly called "maiden's herb" or "old woman's herb" because of its ability to regulate uterine contractions. Therefore, it is recommended in herbal medicine for menstrual problems.
