This product contains a mixture of tocopherols. In addition to the natural oily form of D-alpha-tocopherol, which has 100% of the biological activity of natural vitamin E, there is a naturally occurring mixture of tocopherols. Vitamin E is the name for eight different compounds divided into two categories: tocopherols and tocotrienols. Each category is further divided into alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta-tocopherols. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that is only produced in plants. Its natural sources are wheat germ oil, whole grains, and green leafy vegetables. Humans and animals are unable to synthesize vitamin E, so it must be supplied through diet. The term 'Vitamin E' is used only for alpha-tocopherol, but the beneficial properties of both tocopherols and tocotrienols D-Alpha-tocopherol contained in the product have 100% of the biological activity of natural vitamin E.
Vitamin E is primarily one of the most important natural antioxidants (it fights free radicals and protects the body from their harmful effects).
