The body normally obtains vitamin D primarily through skin synthesis under the influence of sunlight and, to a much lesser extent, through food. The vitamin D content in a typical Polish diet is low and definitely not sufficient to meet an adult's vitamin needs.
Due to Poland's geographical latitude, vitamin D3 supplementation is recommended year-round. It's especially important to maintain proper vitamin D3 levels during the months of October to April, as this is a time of low sunlight in Poland.
