DESCRIPTION

Vitamin B1 is thiamine. This vitamin is the first B vitamin to be discovered. Vitamin deficiency is rare, but even a mild deficiency can have serious adverse health effects. This vitamin is a heterocyclic organic compound consisting of a thiazole and a pyrimidine ring connected by a methionine bridge. This vitamin is involved in the conversion of energy from food, primarily carbohydrates.
