The Digezyme® enzyme complex consists of protease, an enzyme of bacterial origin, and α-amylase, lipase, lactase, and cellulase, which are derived from fungi. The α-amylase enzyme hydrolyzes starch and other polysaccharides. Protease is responsible for breaking down proteins and peptides into smaller units. Lipase breaks down fats. Lactase is responsible for breaking down lactose, while cellulase breaks down cellulose.
