The dish contains low-fat plant protein, a whole range of vitamins and minerals found in vegetables, as well as antioxidants: quercetin, which is found in onions, and lutein, which is abundant in tomato paste (it contains more of it than raw tomatoes). Ginger root provides an oriental flavor and additional health-promoting properties. The essential oil zingiberol is responsible for the intense aroma, while resinous substances such as gingerol and zinferon provide a slightly burning, bitter taste. What ailments can ginger treat? The spice facilitates digestion, helps with bloating and nausea. It protects against blood clots, relieves menstrual cramps, treats colds, and, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, helps with joint pain.
