Scorzonera ( Scorzonera hispanica L.) also known as snake or salsify is a plant of the Asteraceae family native to southern and eastern Europe and some areas of Asia. Wężymord is an extremely healthy, but not very popular vegetable in Poland. This dark brown root, reminiscent of parsley or horseradish, is a veritable treasure trove of mineral salts - calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium - and vitamins - A, B, C and E. In addition, salsify contains protein and inulin, the building blocks of muscles and tissues, non-hyperglycaemic (suitable for diabetics), natural sugar. The black root tastes like asparagus, it is suitable for roasting, baking and grilling, it can also be an accompaniment to salads and salads.
