The watermelon, also known as the cow melon (Citrullus Schrader), is a plant species in the gourd family, consisting of four species. It originates from South Africa and is now cultivated throughout the world, including in the USA, China, Turkey, Brazil, and Iran. Watermelons are plants that like sun and moisture, so they are best adapted to cultivation in tropical conditions.
Cowon is approximately 92% water (the English name is watermelon), making it an excellent thirst quencher and hydrating drink. Rich in fiber, antioxidants that help the body fight aging, vitamins A, B, C, and K, and minerals such as potassium, iron, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus, copper, calcium, and selenium, watermelon is an extremely healthy, low-calorie snack, just in time for summer afternoons in the scorching sun.
