Bigos is a dish that many people associate with childhood, family idylls, and Christmas gatherings. It's no wonder, since this dish has been on Polish tables for decades, and the origins of this delicacy date back to the 17th century. Although it's a bit time-consuming to prepare, you can enjoy it today without having to spend long hours in the kitchen. Our aromatic vegetarian bigos are perfect as a quick, warming dinner or as a filling afternoon tea. The base is white cabbage and sauerkraut, known primarily for their high vitamin C content. Mushrooms, onions, turmeric, concentrated tomatoes, and dried carrots are also included. Porcini and ceps were a must in this jar, lending the dish a slightly "foresty" character.
