Solgar's product is a source of plant phytosterols. The phytosterols in the preparation occur in a natural complex, just as they do in nature (beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, brassicasterol). The diet of indigenous peoples provided an average of 1 g of phytosterols per day. Phytosterols (also called plant sterols) are similar to cholesterol, which is a structural component of our cell membranes. Phytosterols play a similar role in plant cell membranes. Due to the nearly identical molecular structure of phytosterols and cholesterol, the body has difficulty distinguishing them. Therefore, plant phytosterols naturally bind more quickly to cholesterol receptors in the intestine and are absorbed instead. The research conducted has shown that the consumption of phytosterols in the form of a phytosterol complex in an amount of 2 g per day can reduce total cholesterol levels by 6-15% and LDL (bad) cholesterol by 8-15% in the first three weeks after initiation.
INGREDIENTS
Phytosterol complex (from soy), including sterol esters (including beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, brassicasterol, gel capsule shell: gelatin, vegetable glycerin, safflower oil), color: caramel.

Amount per daily dose:
Phytosterol complex (from soy) – 2000 mg
Total sterol esters (including beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, brassicasterol) – 1800 mg

USE
2 capsules twice daily.
Best taken with a meal or as indicated.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. This product cannot be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Pregnant women, nursing mothers and sick people should consult a doctor before taking the preparation.
