NFO® Omega-3 Forte contains the highest concentration of omega-3 fatty acids available on the market in the form of phospholipids and ethyl esters - only pure fish oils have a high concentration of polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids.

The quality of NFO’s Omega-3 fatty acid products is determined by:

1. The origin of the raw material: NFO does not use external raw material sources, but only a known and reliable one. The headquarters of NFO INTERNATIONAL AS is located in Trondheim, the center of Norwegian aquaculture and fisheries, as well as Norwegian salmon exports. Only fish that are low in the food chain and contain very low levels of contaminants such as mercury, dioxins, and PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) are used in the production of NFO® Omega-3. These are chemically resistant substances that easily accumulate in living organisms such as fish and are among the substances whose production and use are prohibited. Despite this, they are still used in large quantities. It is estimated that two-thirds of the approximately 1.5 million tons of PCBs produced worldwide are still in use or in the environment.


2. Time from catch to start of oil production: the shorter the time, the better. And why? The shorter the time, the lower the TOTOX parameter (i.e., the degree of oxidation or purity—the lower this parameter, the lower the degree of oxidation). The TOTOX value of a fish in a body of water is zero. The minimum TOTOX value of fish after catch: 4. The TOTOX value of all NFO products is mostly 6/6.5 (based on laboratory data), although EU regulations allow a maximum value of 20. How is this possible? NFO production facilities are located near catch collection points. The finished product can be obtained just a few hours after fishing.


3. Production technology: NFO uses multi-stage purification of the raw material, including a molecular distillation step, which guarantees the highest degree of purification of the fish oil from harmful contaminants. Furthermore, the manufacturer, NFO INTERNATIONAL AS, strictly adheres to Norwegian national and EU regulations regarding biochemical purity. Production takes place in a Pharmatech AS factory, which is owned by a family member, ensuring production is under its own control.


4. Capsule formulation: Capsules in a gel shell – their quality is determined by the degree of oxygen protection of the oil inside. Physical and chemical parameters are also important – the content of all polyunsaturated PUFA fatty acids (including Omega-3) in a low-quality capsule decreases very rapidly over time. In NFO capsules, the contents do not change their properties during their shelf life. This, of course, is constantly monitored by the manufacturer: NFO tests each production batch according to strict standards.
