Brown rice , also called natural rice, is unpolished rice from which only the hull has been removed. It is the least processed and therefore the most nutritionally valuable. It belongs to the group of foods with a low glycemic index. This product may contain gluten.
Its light brown color is due to the presence of multiple bran layers, which are rich in minerals and vitamins. Due to its rich amino acid composition, it is appreciated by healthy diet consumers and vegetarians.
It pairs perfectly with poultry dishes and is also an irreplaceable ingredient in exotic dishes. When cooked, it has a slightly chewy texture and a nutty flavor. Cooking takes much longer, about 30 minutes, and requires more water than other rice varieties.
