Milk thistle (Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertner) is a plant from the Asteraceae family native to the Mediterranean region. Valued as a plant raw material, milk thistle is found in Poland as a cultivated plant or in its natural form in meadows and home gardens. Sometimes confused with thistle, milk thistle is characterized by its inconspicuous purple flowers and mottled white leaves. The main active ingredient for which this unique herb is famous is silymarin, which has a powerful regenerating effect on liver cells. Milk thistle is also rich in vitamins B2 and D, tannins, antioxidants, and mineral salts: copper, selenium, and zinc. Milk thistle seeds can be used to enrich salads, vegetable pastes, soups, and sauces. They also go well with porridge, bread dough, or yogurt.

DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICATION
Recommended daily intake: 10 g, or 1 scoop, of the product. Pour on hot, but not boiling, water (250 ml), cover, and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain the infusion and drink. Perfect as an addition to porridge, muesli, or salads. The grain can also be ground before consumption.

NOTES
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. A food supplement cannot be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
