Manuka honey is distinguished from other European and tropical honeys primarily by its native origin. It is found only in a few areas of New Zealand, a natural refuge for rare shrubs of the genus Leptospermum scoparium. These are homogeneous honeys produced exclusively in New Zealand during the flowering period of manuka shrubs, made primarily from the nectar of Leptospermum scoparium plants. These honeys should also be distinguished by the following characteristics: a reasonable range of specific conductivity; a unique sac called a mineral; slightly bitter; a strongly aromatic fragrance with distinct notes of damp earth and heather; the presence of pollen, characteristic of manuka shrubs; and active ingredients, including methylglyoxal (MGO™).
MGO™ is an abbreviation for methylglyoxal – a natural substance recognized by scientists as a characteristic ingredient of Manuka honey, which, due to its high content, stands out from other honeys available on the market. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Honey is best eaten in the morning on an empty stomach 2-3 teaspoons or 2-3 times a day 1 teaspoon half an hour before a meal.
