Flaxseed oil is an excellent source of Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9,
which maintains an optimal ratio between these acids.
ALA acid, which belongs to the Omega-3 family, lowers insulin levels, improves insulin sensitivity, has a protective effect on the cardiovascular system, lowers LDL cholesterol and serum triglycerides, and has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Linoleic acid reduces serum triglycerides and lowers blood pressure. It is essential for normal body growth and also plays an important role in skin pigmentation and the healing of damaged epidermis.
Oleic acid reduces the risk of cholesterol oxidation in the LDL fraction and lowers the concentration of this fraction in serum, while increasing the concentration of the HDL fraction. Oleic acid also has an effect on lowering high blood pressure.
