Linseed oil is extracted from flax seeds by cold pressing. Due to its distinctive flavor, it is recommended as an addition to salads, bread, and cold meat and fish dishes. Linseed oil is characterized by its high content of unsaturated fats, including polyunsaturated fats, and a high content of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential fatty acids (EFAs). Replacing saturated fats in the diet with unsaturated fats helps maintain normal cholesterol levels.
