Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) is a 6 cm long marine crustacean. The DHA molecule (dohozahexaenoic acid) is an important component of human brain tissue, skin, and the retina of the eye. Phospholipids are lipid molecules containing combinations of fatty acids, glycerol, phosphoric acid residues, and a nitrogen base.
