The English oak [Latin: Quercus robur] is a well-known tree symbolizing robustness, longevity, and traditional values, with an average lifespan of 600 to even 1,000 years. However, not everyone knows that oak bark has been an extremely valuable plant raw material for centuries. It is harvested from young trunks or branches in early spring, before the first leaves appear. In traditional medicine, oak bark decoctions help with many ailments such as diarrhea, stomatitis, and skin problems. The tree occurs naturally only in the temperate zones of the Northern Hemisphere.

Oily hair - For this type of hair, an oak bark rinse can help, not only solving the problem but also gently darkening and deepening the color.

Powdered oak bark and oak bark extracts are contained in natural hair dyes and coloring shampoos (mixtures e.g. with henna, chestnut bark, turmeric, cinnamon, bark and walnut shell).

Recommended application

Add 1 level tablespoon (about 3 g) of oak bark to 1 cup (250 ml) of cold water and boil for 5 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes and strain.

Rinse with oak bark

Ingredients required: 3 tablespoons (about 10 g) of chopped oak bark, 500 ml of water. Boil the water, pour over the oak bark, and let it cool. Once cooled, pour into a bowl and use the prepared conditioner as the final rinse when washing your hair. Use the conditioner 2-3 times a week to achieve the desired results.
