Chamomile Herb 50 g
Chamomile in Herbal Medicine Since Antiquity
Chamomile is one of the oldest herbs that has gained recognition in herbal medicine. This is due to its remarkable and versatile properties. In nature, it occurs as a plant that produces many small flowers characterized by white petals and a yellow center. It is most commonly found on fallow land, meadows, grain fields, along roadsides, at forest edges, and even in gardens.
Similar Plants
If you want to collect chamomile, you should know that there are many similar species that, however, do not have the same properties. For example, the scentless mayweed or the anaerobic marigold are almost identical in appearance. The ability to distinguish these flowers is especially important for herbalists. Chamomile is characterized primarily by its hollow receptacle in the center and emits a pleasant scent when rubbed in the palms of the hands. Neither the scentless mayweed nor the odorless marigold have these properties.
Regular Use of Chamomile - Benefits
With regular use of chamomile, many health problems can be alleviated. Compresses made from its flowers are valuable as they excellently accelerate the wound healing process and also have anti-inflammatory properties. Chamomile also relaxes smooth muscles and stimulates digestion. Therefore, this plant is valuable, among other things, for all gastrointestinal complaints such as constipation or bloating. Furthermore, it also alleviates the symptoms of inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes. An infusion of chamomile is an excellent remedy for all kinds of bacterial diseases of the oral cavity.
Beneficial for the digestive system
Due to the high content of flavonoids and coumarin derivatives, chamomile is excellent for counteracting and neutralizing digestive discomfort. It supports intestinal activity and stimulates bile flow. It is recommended to drink a glass of this herbal tea after consuming hard-to-digest foods. Chamomile prevents stomach hyperacidity and reduces gastric juice secretion.
For skin problems
Allergies can be combated with natural remedies, especially with chamomile compresses. This herb has antihistamine properties that alleviate allergic symptoms. It is also characterized by its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects, which contribute to faster regeneration of skin tissue. Chamomile compresses are valuable in relieving burns and ulcers.
Use in cosmetics
The properties of chamomile are extremely versatile, as proven by its wide use in the cosmetics industry. It has the ability to lighten hair and is therefore ideal for the care of blonde and dull hair. A rinse made from this plant strengthens the roots and prevents hair loss.

Among the main contraindications is use in individuals prone to skin allergies. Chamomile tea
Chamomile is an ideal addition to the daily diet, especially due to its richness in vitamins and minerals. It supports the function of the entire digestive system. The easiest way is to serve it as an infusion, which is very easy to prepare. Simply put a measured portion of the dried herb into a glass, pour boiling water over it, and let it steep covered for 10 minutes. For a chamomile compress, pour hot water over the dried chamomile and immediately wrap it in gauze or linen.
