Spinach is native to Central and Western Asia. It is a plant related to quinoa and beetroot, belonging to the amaranth family, which in turn is related to quinoa and beetroot. It comprises three species, the most commercially viable of which is vegetable spinach, which is cultivated almost worldwide. Its origins are likely Persia, from where it arrived in Europe via Spain.
Spinach leaves are characterized by their high content of beta-carotene, vitamins C, A, K, folic acid, lutein, and zeaxanthin. They also contain a high concentration of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, and potassium. Eating this green vegetable can help you cope with the effects of excessive stress and can also prevent headaches and dizziness.
Spinach is delicious both raw and cooked. Perfect as a side dish to sandwiches, meat, salads, or cakes, it's also suitable for dumplings and pancakes.
