Horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) is a root vegetable of the cabbage family found in Europe, North America and New Zealand and parts of Asia. Used around the world for millennia, horseradish is an exceptionally healthy plant, boasting numerous culinary and health-promoting properties.
Among other things, horseradish prides itself on the content of vitamin C to support immunity, B vitamins necessary for the proper functioning of the body, vitamin K and calcium to strengthen bones and magnesium to support the nervous system. It can improve digestion and speed up metabolism, recommended for heavy, greasy food and people on a slimming diet
Horseradish was well known and valued in old Polish cuisine. Served alongside dripping meats, it should soothe the indigestion caused by them. For a long time now, it has also become indispensable at Easter.
