The glucosamine contained in Jarrow Formulas® Glucosamine HCL Mega is an aminosaccharide bound to HCL (hydrochloric acid). Glucosamine occurs naturally in the human body but is synthesized in small amounts, and its production decreases with age. It is a component of joint tissue and is involved in the production of synovial fluid, which lubricates the joints. For this reason, it is an ideal dietary supplement for physically active individuals and older people with musculoskeletal problems. It is converted to N-acetylglucosamine by goblet cells in the intestine.
