Dried Apricots 1000g - VIVIO

Apricots are sweet fruits that occur naturally mainly in East Asia. The oldest sources state that this fruit was cultivated in China 400 BC. At that time, apricots were mostly eaten fresh. However, drying them began in ancient times, which made it possible to enjoy their unique flavor regardless of the season. Apricots arrived on the Old Continent in dried form and quickly won the hearts of lovers of oriental delicacies. Due to their growing popularity, this fruit began to be cultivated on a large scale in Mediterranean countries. Dried apricots have a sweet taste and an orange color. Their size and texture are reminiscent of a plum.
Dried apricots are a treasure trove of nutrients beneficial to health, so including them in a healthy diet can help improve our body's function. Due to their beta-carotene content, dried apricots can slow the aging process and improve the functioning of the digestive system. Vitamin C, which is also responsible for fighting harmful free radicals, has a similar effect. Apricots also contain a large dose of vitamin E (known as the vitamin of youth) , which not only slows the aging process but also contributes to the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system. It's also worth knowing that this fruit can supply our body with B vitamins, which, when combined with a healthy diet, help improve our alertness and concentration. In addition to valuable vitamins and minerals, apricots are also a source of fiber, which supports the maintenance of a healthy body weight and the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system.
Dried apricots have a low glycemic index (GI = 40). Therefore, they can be consumed in moderation by people struggling with diabetes or insulin resistance. However, it's worth knowing that if you have diabetes, it's not advisable to eat this fruit in the afternoon and evening. However, you can easily add it to your morning porridge or lunch. However, before permanently incorporating them into your diet, it's worth consulting an experienced nutritionist or diabetologist.
