Damiana is a raw material obtained from a small shrub called Turner'swort. Damiana leaf has properties that improve mood, relieve coughs, and act as a diuretic. Damiana or Turnera diffusa Willd. ex Shult. Damiana owes its properties to the numerous biologically active substances it contains. The leaves of this plant contain: flavonoids, carbohydrates, including glucose, rhamnose, fructose, sucrose, steroids, squalene, pyrone, tetrafillin B, arbutin, tannins, vitamin C, elements such as magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, saponins, proteins, and essential oil-containing compounds such as thymol. Damiana leaf has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Caffeine is also present in the leaf extract.
Damiana leaf may have antibacterial effects. Apigenin, contained in the alcoholic leaf extracts of this plant, can have a calming effect. Due to phenolic compounds, damiana herb has antioxidant properties. Some of the substances it contains, such as quercetin, also have a powerful antioxidant effect. They may also slow down the aging process of cells. This plant is often used as an ingredient in dietary supplements that accelerate the process of weight loss. It's also worth mentioning that an infusion of dried damiana leaves helps with indigestion caused by heavy, fatty foods.

INGREDIENTS
Dried and cut Damiana leaves (Turnera diffusa).

APPLICATION
Pour 2 teaspoons of leaves into a boiling pot, cover, and let steep for 3 minutes. Strain before consumption. It is recommended to consume the prepared infusion 2-3 times daily.
