Jarrow FORMULAS Colostrum Prime Life contains colostrum of the highest quality and purity—colostrum from cows with 30% immunoglobulins. Colostrum contains at least 30% immunoglobulins and is obtained from American pasture-fed cows within 16 hours of calving. The colostrum is processed at low temperatures and tested to ensure the biological activity of the various fractions of colostrum immunoglobulins and to prevent their denaturation. Colostrum also contains proline-rich polypeptides (PRP), a special class of polypeptides that exhibit immunomodulatory properties and contribute to the maintenance of a healthy digestive system. Lactoferrin in colostrum is an important iron-binding glycoprotein that occurs naturally in the body and supports immune system function and the growth of good bacteria. Colostrum comes from cows that have not been treated with hormones, antibiotics, or pesticides.
