Inulin, extracted from chicory, is a polysaccharide consisting of glucose and fructose molecules. It is a white, water-soluble powder. It has gelling, thickening, and stabilizing properties. In food production, it is used as a fat substitute, thus reducing the calorie content of products.
Inulin is not digested in the human digestive tract and therefore acts as a dietary fiber. In the large intestine, it acts as a prebiotic, a dietary component that positively influences the development of normal intestinal bacterial flora. Furthermore, it also improves intestinal peristalsis and can help reduce the tendency to constipation.

INGREDIENTS

Chicory inulin.

APPLICATION
As a thickener in jellies, soups, and sauces. A maximum of 10 g of inulin per day; more can have a laxative effect.
