Chia seeds contain up to 35% fat, primarily polyunsaturated fats. The fatty acids they contain are alpha-linolenic, palmitic, linoleic, and oleic acids. Thanks to these, they have a positive effect on memory and concentration. Another 25% of the composition is made up of proteins. They are non-gluten proteins, so these seeds can be eaten by people who have had to exclude gluten from their diet. They contain amino acids such as arginine, glutamic acid, and aspartic acid. For this reason, they can positively influence the improvement of immunity. They also contain a high fiber content of approximately 26 grams per 100 grams of product, which accelerates metabolism. They also contain tocopherols, or vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties, fighting free radicals in our body and thus boosting our immunity. Spanish sage seeds can be eaten raw or infused with water, cow's milk, or plant-based milk. After being infused with liquid, they begin to swell and, after a few hours of rest, form a characteristic pudding. Such a meal provides a quick, long-lasting feeling of satiety. However, it's worth controlling the amount consumed during the day, primarily due to the high fiber content, as excessive intake reduces mineral absorption and can even lead to excessive bowel movements.
