Astaxanthin: The xanthophyll algae pigment of Haematococcus pluvialis gives salmon, shrimp, and krill, among other species, their characteristic color. One of the most interesting phenomena in the world of fauna and flora is the migration of salmon. These fish accumulate astaxanthin in their muscles, which perhaps explains their incredible strength to travel hundreds and thousands of kilometers upstream.

Haematococcus pluvialis algae is the main food source of krill, so it's safe to say that it contains astaxanthin, plus the astaxanthin in Bioastin enhances the effects of omega-3 acids in the Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) supplement. Further research is needed to explain the mechanism of action of astaxanthin, but today you can safely utilize its unique properties, as evidenced by the numerous positive articles in leading global press outlets, including The Times, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated, as well as research in numerous publications.

Bioastin works perfectly with Spirulina Pacifica algae and krill oil.

APPLICATION : 1 capsule daily, with a meal

Storage : Store in a closed container in a cool, dry place out of reach of small children.

Notes: Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. This food supplement cannot be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.

BioAstin production

Cyanotech Corporation has been a manufacturer of algae products for over 21 years.
It has developed advanced technology that, combined with an excellent breeding site on the Kona Coast, Hawaii, allows it to produce seaweed products without any contamination.

Advanced technology is used to produce BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin from Haematococcus Pluvialis algae. The initial cultivation phase of these algae takes place in closed tank systems with a capacity of up to 40,000 liters. A further short 5-7-day "red-dyeing" cycle takes place in open ponds with a capacity of 50,000 liters. At each stage of BioAstin production, the Haematococcus algae cultures are examined microscopically to ensure that the cultures are clean and free of contaminants. At the end of the "red-dyeing" cycle, the algae are harvested, washed, and dried. The final stage of BioAstin production is the extraction of dried Haematococcus algae biomass using supercritical carbon dioxide to produce an oleoresin that is free from biological or environmental contaminants. The supercritical extraction process is an important production step that ensures the potency, purity and quality of BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin.
It is a common misconception that closed microalgae cultivation tanks protect against contamination by other organisms. However, this is not true. Such closed cultures can also be contaminated by other algae, fungi, and protozoa. In such a situation, the removal of biological contaminants in closed tanks can be very difficult due to the specific nature of this type of cultivation system. In fact, the persistent contamination of closed farms has caused serious problems for algae producers in California, Europe, and Hawaii (not Cyanotech). Closed and open culture tank systems were developed based on Cyanotech's many years of experience. They were designed to minimize problems and ensure that the algae products are free of contaminants.
Cyanotech is licensed by the Hawaii Department of Health to manufacture and process natural astaxanthin. We are also GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified and operate according to FDA (American Food and Drug Administration) guidelines. Every batch of BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin undergoes rigorous quality control tests to ensure the highest quality and purity of the final product. Furthermore, our extensive experience and patented technology allow us to produce much larger quantities of natural astaxanthin than our competitors. Our market share in astaxanthin product sales is over 95%.
