Butyric acid (or butanoic acid) is a short chain fatty acid (short chain fatty acids - SCFA) which are building blocks and fats necessary for the proper functioning of cells. It is the main source of energy for colonocytes (cells of the intestine and large intestine epithelium).

High-fiber foods (including inulin) and some probiotics can
increase its concentration in the intestine body. However, sometimes its production in the large intestine is too low, which can lead to indigestion. In humans, too, its concentration decreases with age. Butyric acid can also be administered orally in such cases. However, it is important that it goes directly to the intestines and is not digested in the stomach.

PRODUCT COMPOSITION
The daily dose (2 capsules) contains:

sodium butyrate – 300 mg,

including butyric acid – 240 mg;

Inulin – 160 mg.
