Description:
Lemon is a small evergreen tree native to Asia. People recognized the health-promoting potential of this plant several thousand years ago. It was used in natural medicine in China, India, Egypt, and Rome.
Its antibacterial and antiseptic properties were particularly valued.
Europeans also recognized the medicinal potential of the lemon around 200 AD and brought it to our continent. Later, the lemon was also brought to Africa, and Christopher Columbus brought it to America.
In aromatherapy, lemon oil is highly valued for its versatile uses; it is believed to have not only an energizing effect on the psyche, but also to be balancing, calming and anxiolytic, as well as analgesic, purifying, appetite-reducing and bactericidal.
Many valuable substances with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antifungal and analgesic properties have been discovered and are rich in lemon oil, including: alpha-pinene, camphene, sabinene, myrcene and linalool.
Lemon oil is currently used in: cosmetics, medicine, cooking, household chemicals and aromatherapy.

Odor:
Smells citrus, fresh, and sweet. It blends well with the following oils: rosemary, lavender, neroli, bergamot, and tea tree.
