Irvingia Gabonensis, or colloquially known as the African mango plant, is a wild tree that grows to a height of 15 to 40 meters. After ripening, the fruits of this tree produce seeds, which are used primarily in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. The name "mango" alone doesn't have much in common with the familiar mango fruit often found among the fruits sold in stores or markets. Both species are native to Africa, which is why it's so important to distinguish between the two plants. However, the African mango has many properties that aren't found in the latter. First of all, it is known for its oxidative potential for fats. Thanks to its polyphenol-rich composition and its abundance of valuable vitamins and minerals, it can beneficially support our hormonal balance and general body function.
