Blueberry (Vaccinium L.) is a plant in the heather family, which, according to some studies, includes up to 450 species. Some of them are cultivated both as a raw food and for canning. In Poland, only one of the same species, the highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum), is cultivated.
This delicious fruit, with a color balance between pomegranate and purple, is a true vitamin bomb. Highbush Blueberry boasts high levels of nutrients such as vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin PP, calcium, selenium, potassium, copper, iron, and magnesium.
Fresh blueberries taste best and contain the most vitamins. Eaten raw.
