In its simplest form, chocolate is a confectionery product made from cocoa mass and cocoa butter or other vegetable fat. This exceptionally tasty sweetness comes from the traditional Mayan drink called xococalit, which translates as bitter water and is made from ground cocoa beans, honey, chili, and corn.
The cocoa contained in chocolate is rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E, and minerals such as magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, and copper. Good chocolate not only improves well-being and provides energy, but can also lower bad cholesterol and improve circulatory function. Furthermore, chocolate is the least damaging to teeth of all sweets and can even have a positive effect without sugar.
