Common ficus, also known as common fig, carian fig, fig tree or fruit fig tree is a species of trees or shrubs belonging to the mulberry family. Its fruits are small, pear-shaped figs. The fig tree does not currently occur in the wild, but is eagerly cultivated in Croatia, Turkey and Greece, among others.
Figs are extremely healthy fruits. Rich in vitamins - A, from groups B, C, E and K - and minerals - potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, manganese, calcium and iron - they are a real nutritional bomb and as such should be included in fast's diet all. In addition, figs contain a lot of filling fiber that supports the digestive system.
Organic figs can be a great snack for both kids and adults. They are perfect for sweetening fruit jams. Recommended as an addition to morning porridge, cakes, desserts.
