During heavy snowfalls, constantly shoveling snow can be tiring. Furthermore, shoveling snow alone doesn't guarantee safety on the sidewalk or street. Frozen ice is a tough opponent. Therefore, it's worth sprinkling the sidewalk, driveway, or steps to break up the layer of ice. Sand or road salt are commonly used for this purpose. But now there's a new alternative that's also safe for animals. It's magnesium chloride hexahydrate (MgCl2*6H2O). Magnesium chloride is an effective ice and snow melter, effective even at very low temperatures—down to -50°C (-58°F). Magnesium chloride generates heat that naturally melts the ice while protecting the surface from re-icing for many hours. The product adheres very well to the surface and is almost 10 times more effective than salt. It's worth noting that magnesium chloride is more environmentally friendly and doesn't affect the condition of cars or shoes. It leaves no unpleasant residue on the shoes.
