Barley Barley is made from barley, the oldest cultivated plant, known since the Neolithic period. Among barley groats, it is the most valuable because it is minimally processed, which makes its composition and properties invaluable. Added to this is its great flavor. Savory cooks say it tastes great when paired with sun-dried tomatoes and smoked cottage cheese. If you turn to traditional Polish cuisine, you can prepare it with dried mushrooms and oscypek cheese. Housewives cook delicious risotto, replacing rice with healthy pearl barley, strengthening the kidneys and supporting bone mineralization. We are not the only ones who appreciate its flavor. Few people know that properly prepared pearl barley is a commonly used bait for fishing.
