The patented microencapsulation technology is a double lipid layer surrounding the bacterial cell. This revolutionary solution guarantees almost 100% bacterial survival when passing through the stomach and part of the intestine. Microencapsulated bacteria are many times more potent than lyophilisates, requiring five times fewer bacteria to achieve the same colonization level in the intestine.
Probiotic bacteria are very sensitive to water. Manufacturers often use various types of fiber or inulin as fillers. Their environment is unfavorable for the bacteria because their water activity is above 0.2. The water activity of the carrier is crucial for probiotics. It is the carrier that has the closest contact with the bacteria at all times. If the water activity exceeds aw0.2, the enzymes contained in the bacteria begin to activate, leading to their loss. ProbioBALANCE products are the first in the world to contain an innovative prebiotic – the complex polysaccharide (soluble fiber) Fibregum™ Bio Law (certified organic/BIO) with a water activity below aw0.2, which is safe for bacteria.
