Mango is a tropical plant with approximately 45 species of fruit trees. It is native to India and Indochina, and cultivated in Australia, the Americas, Africa, and some parts of Europe. It was brought to the Old Continent in the 16th century; it has enjoyed unbroken popularity ever since.
The mango fruit is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, B, E, and K, and minerals such as copper, potassium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, selenium, and iron. These large fruits, with a smooth reddish skin and intensely yellow, sweet, juicy flesh, are characterized by an extremely high antioxidant content. They are also rich in stomach-filling and long-lasting fiber.
Mango is a great snack, it is also suitable as an addition to jellies and desserts and will also highlight and emphasize the flavor of meat.
