DESCRIPTION
Umeboshi may be known as a pickled plum, but it's actually an apricot. It originated in Japan and is called a superfood because of its health properties. It gets its unique aroma from the long fermentation process. It has a pronounced sour and sour taste.
Umeboshi apricots can be eaten as an accompaniment to dinner, they can be added to meat and roasts. Umeboshi rice is very popular in Japan. You can also pour warm water over it, add slices of ginger and a spoonful of honey. The resulting drink is a good remedy for colds.
