Manuka Happy Valley UMF® honey is 100% pure, independently tested and accredited by accredited laboratories. It contains a high percentage of unique natural active ingredients for the human body. The product is 100% New Zealand-sourced and packaged exclusively locally.
Happy Valley is a proud member of the independent UMFHA association, which certifies UMF®. The UMFHA classifies the biological activity of Manuka honey, and the certification is used by most producers in New Zealand. This is the most accurate definition of Manuka quality. UMF® certification is determined by the test results of four key ingredients: leptosperin, MGO-methylglyoxal (MG), DHA (dihydroxyacetone), and HMF (hydroxymethylfurfural).
To receive UMF® certification, the product must be tested and strict quality standards must be met.
The importance of honey parameters:
DHA - A substance that determines the age of honey, which under the influence of various processes produces methylglyoxal,
MG – the content of methylgloaxal, which is responsible for the properties of honey,
Leptosperin – an ingredient found only in honey obtained from the nectar of the Manuka bush
HMF – the amount of the product formed during the decomposition of fructose and present in honey under the influence of temperature (the result above 40 mg / kg indicates that the honey was overheated or that a dishonest dealer heated it to artificially increase the content of MG).
