DESCRIPTION
- round short grain rice
- perfect for sushi preparation
- a source of protein and fiber
Sushi is one of the most characteristic and extremely popular dishes of Japanese cuisine. It consists of boiled rice seasoned with vinegar, with added eggs, fish, vegetables, mushrooms, seafood, and nori seaweed.
To prepare sushi properly, it is first necessary to select the right rice. The rice used to prepare this world-famous Japanese dish differs slightly from the traditionally cooked side dish. The grains of sushi rice are usually short-grained, about 5 mm long, and slightly rounded. Due to their high amylopectin content, the grains stick together slightly after cooking, which facilitates sushi preparation .
